ARLINGTON, TX - The 2024–2025 athletic year at Arlington Baptist University was one to remember, filled with thrilling victories, major milestones, and Christ-centered competition across every sport.
The highlight of the year came from the Patriot Volleyball team, who captured the NCCAA Division II National Championship, showcasing dominance throughout the season. The title win marked a historic moment for the program and set a new standard for excellence.
Meanwhile, the Women's Basketball team made a strong postseason push, winning the Southwest Region Championship in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and securing a berth to the NCCAA National Tournament. Despite a 10–13 overall record, the team found its stride when it mattered most, peaking in the postseason and turning heads across the conference.
The Men's Basketball team mirrored the women's overall record at 10–13, but they navigated one of the toughest schedules in program history. Their grit and toughness showed in regional play, where they posted an impressive 9–3 record against Southwest Region opponents, signaling a program trending upward.
The ABU Blue Sox (NCCAA baseball) turned heads with their win at the NCCAA Invitational Championship. Additionally, the team made a deep postseason run, winning their first regional championship since 2013 and earning a trip to the NCCAA World Series. With a final record of 38–16, the Blue Sox represented ABU with excellence, posting one of the best seasons in program history.
Not to be outdone, the ABU Red Sox (NCBA club baseball) also made headlines, winning the Gulf Coast Region and advancing to the NCBA World Series, showcasing the depth and talent of ABU's baseball pipeline.
On the softball field, ABU Softball completed their season with a 13–20 regular season record. The team continued to build chemistry and competed hard through the Regional Tournament, gaining valuable experience and growing as a unit.
ABU Soccer completed its second full season since being reinstated, with both the men's and women's programs continuing to develop. As the programs move forward, new leadership is in place for the 2025 season. ABU alumnus Cris Tule takes over the women's team, bringing a passionate, Christ-centered vision to the team, while Mat Levenson, a respected coach from Oklahoma, steps in to lead the men's program, focused on building a culture of faith, growth, and excellence.
Throughout the year, ABU Athletics continued to embody its mission: to develop champions for Christ through the platform of collegiate athletics. With national titles, regional championships, and impactful leadership transitions, the Patriots have laid a strong foundation for even greater things to come.
