Enrolling in 1973, he was among the first student-athletes to compete in ABU's fledgling athletic programs, participating in basketball, flag football, and softball, and helping lay the foundation for the athletic program's growth while serving as both a player and student coach. A lifelong learner, he earned his PhD while teaching and coaching at ABU, guiding student-athletes with discipline, passion, and a servant's heart. Beyond the university, Dr. Jones has served faithfully as a pastor-teacher for nearly four decades, impacting countless lives through ministry, mentorship, and teaching. A devoted Christ-follower, husband, father, and grandfather, his legacy at ABU spans pioneering athletics, academic excellence, and unwavering commitment to Christ-centered leadership, making him a profoundly deserving inductee into the ABU Hall of Honor.
