ABU #KingChasing Day

Arlington Baptist University was honored to participate in this year's #KingChasing Day through a variety of service projects and community outreach efforts.
King Chasing Day is a special time when we encourage Christian service and community engagement—and at ABU, we are committed to always putting Christ first. It was truly a blessing to take part in such meaningful work across our community.

Our volleyball team served at Mission Arlington, where they were divided into several groups to meet different needs. One group worked in the food pantry, preparing bags of canned goods for those needing meals. Another team sorted donated clothing, and a third group organized household items to be distributed to families. The team was grateful to serve alongside Tillie Burgin and Mrs. Barbara, who shared, "We were praying for someone to come and help us out because we knew it would be busy with lots of donations coming in."

The women's soccer team volunteered at Lake Church Sports and Recreation, where they helped run flag football games for local youth—creating a safe and fun environment for kids to grow and play.

Men's basketball and golf team members spent time on Lancaster Street, where they distributed water and prayed over—and with—the homeless community, spreading encouragement and Christ's love through action.

Softball players served with a local Little League Softball group, offering their time and support to encourage the next generation of athletes.

Meanwhile, the baseball team volunteered at the Cops4Kids Golf Fundraiser, helping with setup and teardown to ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully.

The Women's Basketball team will be volunteering with a local middle school that they were connected with through Faith Community Church.

This year's #KingChasing Day was truly eventful for the Patriots, and we are proud of the way our students stepped up to serve. We pray that every Patriot continues to keep God at the center of their lives and looks for every opportunity to bless others through service.
