ARLINGTON, TX - Jacquelyn Stevens (Wells), the valedictorian of Arlington Baptist University's Class of 2020, has continued to make a lasting impact in the world of collegiate athletics. A four-time All-American and two-time Scholar-Athlete, she was a dominant force on the volleyball court during her time at ABU. She led the Patriots to two Southwest Regional Championships, three NCCAA National Tournament appearances, and a Final Four finish in 2019, earning National Tournament Team honors twice. Additionally, she set the school record for total kills, cementing her legacy in ABU volleyball history.

Stevens graduated from ABU with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Counseling and continued her academic journey, earning a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2023. That same summer, she married her husband, Alec Stevens, and has since taken on multiple roles at Boyce College, where she serves as the Head Volleyball Coach and Resident Director.

Since transitioning to coaching, Stevens has quickly established herself as a rising star in the profession. As the head coach at Boyce College, she has earned three Mideast Regional Coach of the Year awards and led her team to three consecutive NCCAA National Tournament appearances, including a Final Four finish in 2024. Facing ABU at Nationals over the past three seasons has been a surreal and meaningful experience for her.

Reflecting on her coaching journey, Stevens shared, "In my time coaching at Boyce College, our team has played against ABU at Nationals for the past three seasons. It's been a wild and surreal experience to coach against my coach and to see ABU volleyball continue to grow and succeed. I have loved getting to apply so much of what I learned as a player at ABU in the context of coaching college volleyball and pouring into players. Kristi McDaniel's coaching has been so influential to me, and I have loved continuing a friendship with her that has gone beyond my four years at ABU."

Stevens continues to impact young athletes through her dedication to coaching, mentorship, and faith. Her journey from ABU athlete to collegiate coach serves as an inspiration to current and future Patriots striving for excellence both on and off the court.
