FORT WORTH, TX - The Arlington Baptist University Patriots made history this weekend, going undefeated to claim the championship in the inaugural NCCAA DII Baseball Invitational at Lon Goldstein Field in Fort Worth, TX. With dominant performances, the Patriots proved they were the team to beat, finishing the tournament 4-0.
The tournament opened with a 6-5 victory over Trinity Baptist College, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable weekend. The Patriots continued their strong play in game two, defeating Champion Christian College 4-1, before securing their spot in the championship with a 10-7 win over Southeastern Baptist College in game three.
With the title on the line, the Patriots saved their best for last, overwhelming Trinity Baptist College 14-4 in the championship game. The offense exploded early, while the pitching and defense shut down any hopes of a comeback.
Several Patriots were recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the tournament. #3 Alex Aleman, #10 Nathan Duvall, and #23 Francisco Ochoa were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Alex Aleman earned the Most Outstanding Player award for his stellar contributions.
