ARLINGTON, Texas – The Arlington Baptist University Patriots men's basketball team secured a hard-fought victory over the Randall University Saints on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, with a final score of 91-82. The win improves the Patriots' season record to 8-12 as they continue their push for momentum.
The Patriots came out firing in the first half, shooting an impressive 60.71% (17-28) from the field, 40% (4-10) from three-point range, and 71.43% (5-7) from the free-throw line. Their offensive efficiency kept them in control of the game, setting the tone early against the Saints.
In the second half, Arlington Baptist maintained their intensity, shooting 48.28% (14-29) from the field and 78.26% (18-23) from the free-throw line. Despite cooling off from behind the arc (22.22%, 2-9), the Patriots' ability to convert at the charity stripe proved pivotal in sealing the win. Overall, the team shot 54.4% (31-57) from the field, 31.6% (6-19) from three-point range, and 76.7% (23-30) from the free-throw line.
Ahmad Webster led the Patriots' offensive attack with 15 points, two rebounds, and two assists. He shot 50% (4-8) from the field, 42.9% (3-7) from three-point range, and was perfect from the free-throw line (4-4).
Jonathan Gray and
Gary Gray each contributed 12 points, adding to the balanced scoring effort.
Jonathan Gray shot an efficient 83.3% (5-6) from the field and 100% (2-2) from the free-throw line, while
Gary Gray added four rebounds and one assist, shooting 66.7% (4-6) from the field and 100% (4-4) from the free-throw line.
On the defensive end,
Isaiah Melvo and
J'son Murray led the charge with four defensive rebounds apiece.
Gary Gray and
Trey Walters added three defensive boards each, while
Ahmad Webster and
Eric Conner secured two defensive rebounds to help hold off Randall University's offensive efforts.
