Arlington Baptist University Names Jason Venable Head Women’s Soccer Coach

Arlington, TX — Arlington Baptist University has announced the hiring of Jason Venable as the new Head Coach of the Women's Soccer program, bringing one of Texas high school soccer's most accomplished and respected leaders to the Patriots.

Venable arrives with 33 years of coaching experience in Texas high school athletics, coaching football, boys track, boys and girls cross country, and boys and girls soccer. Over his career, he has coached 40 varsity soccer teams (22 girls, 18 boys) and built a reputation as both a program builder and player developer.

He spent 23 years at Waxahachie High School, including 22 seasons as Head Girls Soccer Coach and 12 seasons as Head Boys Soccer Coach, compiling an outstanding career record of 548-268-99. His teams qualified for the playoffs 23 times, coached 62 playoff matches, and captured six district championships. Five seasons saw both boys and girls programs advance to the UIL playoffs in the same year.

Venable's postseason success includes five Regional Semifinal appearances, while his impact on athlete development is reflected in 33 All-Region players12 All-State selections, numerous Academic All-State honorees, and more than 50 athletes who advanced to collegiate soccer.

A respected leader statewide, Venable was inducted into the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) Hall of Honor in 2018. He has served as a clinic lecturer and mediator for TGCA, THSCA, and TASCO and is the founder of the North Texas Coaching Consortium. He also founded the Waxahachie Junior High Soccer Program and previously helped launch the Midlothian High School Soccer Program.

Venable has earned multiple District Coach of the Year honors for both boys and girls soccer and is widely recognized for building sustainable, values-driven programs.

His appointment signals an exciting new chapter for Arlington Baptist Women's Soccer as the program looks to grow competitively while developing student-athletes on and off the field.
