Lady Patriots Finish Regional Play 6–4, Build Momentum Entering Tournament

The Lady Patriots closed out regional play with a strong win, finishing 6–4 in regional competition. In their final week, the Patriots went 2–1, with their lone loss coming against the No. 1 team in the country, Champion Christian College. The matchup marked their first regional loss since an early 0–3 start in the first week of January.

In a dominant home performance against Southwestern Adventist University, the Patriots cruised to a 92–35 victory while honoring their lone senior, Sa'Nya Green. Green led by example, finishing with 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and five steals.

In a symbolic passing-of-the-torch performance, freshman Joydan Overton matched Green with 18 points while adding seven rebounds and four steals in just 14 minutes of play. Junior Sophia Cortez also recorded a double-double, contributing 11 points and 10 rebounds in 17 minutes.

On Wednesday, the Patriots traveled to Arkansas for a ranked showdown against No. 1 Champion Christian, falling in a competitive 74–63 contest. Three Patriots reached double figures in the loss. Overton led with 15 points on 50% shooting, fellow freshman Zoe Senganya added 12 points and nine rebounds, and sophomore Aniya Jackson contributed 10 points, three rebounds, and two steals.

The Patriots closed the regular season on the road in Moore, Oklahoma, defeating Randall University 71–58. Jackson delivered a clutch moment, converting an and-one three-pointer with less than three minutes remaining to help seal the win. Overton finished with 14 points, Jackson and junior MyLeah Young each added 12, Senganya scored 11, and Green capped her regular season with 11 points. Green also reached her 1,000th point in her last regular season region game.

The Lady Patriots now look to carry their momentum into the Southwest Regional Tournament, with bracket play set to begin Wednesday morning.
