The Patriots pulled off a thrilling upset over No. 7 Southwestern Adventist, escaping with a 102–100 overtime victory in dramatic fashion. Arlington Baptist had a chance to end it in regulation, but Davion Allen's layup attempt at the buzzer came up just short. Undeterred, Allen made sure overtime told a different story. With seconds remaining, Gary Gray found Allen in transition, and Allen finished a smooth reverse layup at the horn to seal the win for the Patriots.
The victory keeps the Patriots perfect in regional play at 4–0 as they now await their next regional matchup against Dallas Christian, a team they have already defeated earlier this season. Arlington Baptist leaned heavily on its standout trio, as Allen, Zion Bourgeois, and Gray combined for 59 points to power the upset. Gray led the way with 24 points, while Allen added 19 and Bourgeois chipped in 16 in a statement win for the Patriots.
