The Arlington Baptist University volleyball team traveled to nearby Dallas Christian College for their first Southwest Region match. The Lady Patriots, who are currently ranked 2nd in the country in the most recent NCCAA DII Coaches Poll, bounced back from a loss earlier in the week and got the sweep.
The most notable feat of the match came from the service line where ABU had 17 aces on the night. Britney Gilchrist and Keira Roberson each had 5 aces while Kaygan Stone also added 3 aces. The scoring was spread out with multiple Lady Patriots adding 4 or more kills: Kensington Jordan with 4, Amelia Carr with 5, Avery Allsop and Tara Tackett both with 6.
The Lady Patriot defense was impressive, holding Dallas Christian College to a -.025 attack percentage. Tara Tacket led her team in blocks with 3, and Britney Gilchrist had the most digs with 11.
Next Thursday, the Lady Patriots will be back at home to take on Randall University in an exciting top 10 matchup.
