The Arlington Baptist University men's soccer team played in their first NCCAA matchups this past weekend against Southwest Region opponent, Champion Christian College, and former Southwest Region opponent, Ozark Christian College.
On Friday, the Patriots took on Champion Christian College in Hot Springs, Arkansas and returned with their first Southwest Region win. ABU was in control from the start and pulled off the commanding 5-2 win. Five different Patriots added to the score: Mateo Dean, Gabriel Argenti, Jaiden Farra Cantrell, Luca Sortini, and Tait McCain.
The Patriots then made a quick turnaround to take on Ozark Christian College at home the following day, and finished with a 2-2 draw. Luca Sortini scored both goals for the Patriots. Sortini is currently leading the Patriots in overall scoring with 5 goals on the season.
The Patriots will continue Southwest Region play against Randall University at home on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm.
