ARLINGTON, TX - The Arlington Baptist University Baseball team put together a dominant performance this past weekend, sweeping Champion Christian College in a three-game series on Sunday and Monday, April 6-7. The Patriots came away with wins of 8-2, 7-2, and 4-0.
ABU's pitching staff was lights out, as Corbyn Torti, Alex Aleman, and Ryan Mendiola each threw complete games. Their efforts on the mound set the tone and kept the Champion Christian offense off balance throughout the series.
The Patriot offense also came through in a big way. Multiple players ended the series with two RBIs, including Francisco Ochoa, Layne Wilkerson, JP Mendoza, Nathan Duvall, and Jacob Ovalle, helping ABU secure comfortable victories in each contest.
With the sweep, the Patriots improve to 26-8 on the season. They now turn their attention to an upcoming regional matchup against Randall University in Moore, Oklahoma, set for April 11-12.
