ARLINGTON, TX - The Arlington Baptist University Patriots women's basketball team secured a gritty 67-59 win over the Southwestern Adventist University Knights on Monday evening. The victory moves the Patriots to 6-10 on the season.
Despite shooting challenges, with the team converting 36.5% (23-63) from the field and 20.0% (6-30) from three-point range, the Patriots' defensive intensity proved to be the difference-maker in securing the win.
Sophia Cortez continued her strong offensive production, leading all Patriots scorers with 18 points on efficient 58.3% shooting from the field. Cortez's complete performance included 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks, showcasing her impact on both ends of the floor.
Sa'Nya Green delivered a defensive masterclass with a remarkable 12 steals, while adding 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists to her stat line. Her defensive prowess helped generate crucial transition opportunities throughout the contest.
Enyce Williams contributed 9 points on 57.1% shooting from the field, along with 4 rebounds, while making her presence felt defensively with a block and 2 steals.
