After two intense days of competition, our Lady Patriots stand at 1–2 in pool play and remain firmly in the hunt for a semifinal berth.
The Patriots opened pool play on Thursday against #7 Emmaus University, dropping the first set before roaring back to win three straight and take the match. All-Americans Tara Tackett and Kensington Jordon were unstoppable, each posting 19 kills with just five combined errors, fueling the comeback victory.
Later that same day, the Patriots returned to the court to face #6 Alice Lloyd College. Once again, they dropped the opening set, battled back to take the next two, and pushed the match to a deciding fifth set. The Patriots fought to the final points but came up just short, falling by two. Tara Tackett recorded 13 kills, while Amelia Carr added 11 in a gritty team performance.
On Friday, the Patriots concluded pool play against #3 Pensacola Christian. Despite strong swings and long rallies, the Patriots ultimately fell 3–1. Avery Allsop tallied 13 kills, and Amelia Carr contributed 11 to lead the offensive effort.
With all three teams in their pool finishing at 1–2, the Lady Patriots enter a three-way tie for the runner-up position. They will compete in a tiebreaker match tomorrow at 10:45 a.m. against the winner of Alice Lloyd vs. Emmaus. The victor will advance to face #1 Manhattan Christian in the national semifinals.
The battle continues—let's go Patriots!
