The Arlington Baptist University Men's Basketball team opened their season on a high note with a road victory over Paul Quinn College.
Davione Allen led the charge for the Patriots, shooting an impressive 7-for-11 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, finishing with 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Gary Gray added 16 points, shooting 45% from the floor and 60% from the free-throw line, while also collecting 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
The first half proved to be a battle, with both teams trading baskets before the Patriots entered halftime with a 9-point lead. In the second half, Arlington Baptist maintained their composure and extended their advantage through sharp offensive execution and relentless defensive communication.
The Patriots dominated inside, scoring 54 points in the paint, 22 points on fast breaks, and converting 38 points off Paul Quinn's 23 turnovers.
Arlington Baptist will return to action on Saturday as they head north to face Mid-America Christian University in an exhibition matchup, part of a doubleheader with the Lady Patriots.
