Shots Don’t Fall Against UD Crusaders
Last night the Arlington Baptist Women’s basketball team squared off against the University of Dallas Crusaders. The Lady Patriots opened up the night and fell behind quick as the Lady Crusaders went on a 13-0 run. Though battling back and even coming within ten points with 6 minutes remaining in the game, the Lady Patriots fell the the Crusaders 62-76.
The Lady Patriots were led by starting point guard Shanice Hill and forward Morgan Hale who both had a total of 13 points, but despite their efforts, shots were simply not falling for the team as a whole – making only 22 out of 71 shots on the night. Issues came in the paint as it has seemed a constant with the Lady’s team this year as they allowed the Lady Crusaders 20 second chance points while only taking 8 themselves. The Crusdaers were led by freshman Seana Stoia who was 11-11 from the charity stripe and 6-9 from the field, putting up a total of 23 points on the night.
Diamond Martinez, though falling short from behind the arc, added 11 points, 6 steals, and 3 assists.
The Lady Patriots fall to 3-3 on the season with their next game coming Tuesday, December 10th against El Centro at home starting at 6 pm.
