Patriots jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on to the game one lead Tuesday after a last inning comeback from Northwood which ended in a 3-2 score.
Devin Patton (SR./Cedar Hill, TX) went the distance for Arlington Baptist striking out five in six innings of work.
The Patriots were able to bounce back and beat Northwood University 8-5 in game two behind Trevor Moon (SR./Kilgore, TX), who collected four hits on the afternoon. Moon singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning of game two.
Arlington Baptist relied on Zachary Thompson (JR./Whitehouse, TX) to eat up innings en route to the win on Tuesday. Thompson allowed three earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out seven over seven innings of work.
Patriots went up for good in the third, scoring three runs on two singles. The Pats added four more runs in the top of the fifth as Moon kicked things off with a double, scoring Clint Hall and Hestand Foster.
Arlington Baptist will travel to Durant, OK this weekend for a 3-game series against Texas A&M International University on the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State Univ. The Patriots will return home for action Wednesday March 26th at 6pm for a single contest against University of Dallas.
