The Arlington Baptist Men’s Basketball team continued to defend their home court this past Thursday night as they overtook the Southwest Adventist University Knights 104-84 and moved to 7-0 at home.
In the first half the Patriots’ offense was clicking on all cylinders, scoring 61 points in just twenty minutes of play. The Men did a phenomanle job of swinging the ball and working their offense inside out, allowing Senior Postman Jeremiah Ford to score 15 points in only 12 minutes of play. On the night, Ford managed to bucket a season high of 33 points, and grabbed 13 boards, as well as three assists, one block, and two steals.
After going down by 21 at the half, the Knights battled back and even brought the score within eleven points before the Patriots extended the lead back out to twenty to finish off their opponents.
Senior Point Guard Simeon Brinkley and Junior Guard Joshua Green each had 8 assists on the night, and helped to contribute to over half the team’s offense between the two of them.
Additionally, Junior Shooting Guard Raphael Garcia shot over %62 percent on the night from long range, knocking down 5 out of 8 attempts, finishing with 19 total points, 5 boards, and three assists.
The Patriots will resume action on Monday February 16, 2014 at 6:00 pm against Conference Opponent Ozark Christian College.
