Arlington, TX – The Patriot Men and Lady Patriots played Monday night in front of a great home crowd on a historic night for the Patriot athletic department. The Lady Patriots kicked off the evenings festivities with a 66-51 win against a tough regional opponent. Ciara Costello led the way for the Lady Patriots with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Other key contributors were Hannah McGaughy with 13 points, and Kambri Shoush who added 12 points and dished out 7 assists.
Act two was another fantastic 40 minutes of back and forth action. The Patriots went into halftime with a nine point lead, and had to withstand a valiant comeback effort by the Crusaders early in the second half. The Patriots weathered the storm and were able to knock down key free throws in the final minutes to close out the Crusaders and move to 3-0 at home with a 90-78 win. The Patriots were lead by Jeremiah Ford who stuffed the stat sheet, scoring 25 points (11-15 from the free throw line), pulling down 7 rebounds, and swiping 5 steals. Other notable contributors included: Rod Reed with 18 points and 4 assists, and Josh Green and Johnny Shrake each reaching double figures with 12 points.
All of this came on a very historic night for Patriot Athletics, where at halftime of the men’s game President Dr. D.L. Moody lead in honoring the Patriot Cross Country team and the Lady Patriots volleyball team. The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of both teams’ championship banners, the first two in ABC’s history.
