Denton, TX- The Patriot Cross Country team competed this weekend in the Ken
Garland Invitational hosted by the University of North Texas. The small
field of four included two NCAA Division I schools– the host team and Texas
Christian University. Regardless of the level of competition the Patriots
fared well as a team with their third place finish (58 points). TCU took
the meet title with 26 points followed by UNT with 38 points.
Dylon Lowe (Fr.) in his first collegiate contest led all Arlington Baptist
runners in the four-mile race with the time of 21:30; which was good for an
8th place overall finish. He was followed by a slew of Patriots crossing
the finish line in 11-13th place–German Lopez (21:58), Daniel Garcia
(22:02.0), and Daniel Arevalo (22.:02.7). Freshman Robert Cruz rounded off
ABC’s top 5 with the time of 23:44 and 18th overall.
The Patriot Cross Country Team competes next Saturday, Sept. 22nd, at the
3rd Annual Ram Ramble hosted by Texas Wesleyan University located at Gateway
Park in Fort Worth.
