Arlington, TX – The Patriot men’s basketball team won their home opener last night 100-89 over Parker College. The game went to halftime tied at 48, and remained close until the last two minutes, where the Patriots were able to hit several clutch free throws to put the game away for good. The Patriots were lead in scoring by sophomore Raphael Garcia who had 27 points. He finished the night 9 for 12 with all his shots coming from behind the 3-point line. Other key contributors for the Patriots included: Josh Green with 18 points and 8 rebounds, Jeremiah Ford with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals, Hugo Rodriguez with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Rod Reed who had 9 points and 7 assists. The Patriot’s next game will be on the road Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Prairie View A&M.
