Midlothian, TX- Arlington Baptist College’s Cross Country Team is proud to have the opportunity to connect with many Dallas/Fort Worth high schools and middle schools who took part in the 2nd Annual Patriot Stampede. Twenty-four high schools from UIL’s Class 5A down to TAAPS’ 1A and eleven middle schools took part in the meet held at the beautiful Salvation Army Hi-View Ranch in Midlothian, TX. Although the weather wasn’t ideal for the 592 runners, the course held up very well allowing for some well needed competition with less than four weeks until district.
Mansfield High School (5A) took home the Varsity Boys title with 82 points, 2nd went to Mansfield Legacy (4A), and Kaufman (3A) took 3rd overall. In the Varsity Girls 5K run, Mansfield High took home the gold with an impressive 29 points, followed by #6 ranked Kaufman, and Burleson Centennial rounded out the top 3. The Junior Varsity Boys race mirrored the Varsity Boys with Mansfield in 1st, 2nd going to Mansfield Legacy, and Kaufman bringing home the bronze. In the Junior Varsity Girls race, Burleson Centennial took home the gold with 40 points, followed closely by Mansfield Legacy with 45 points, and Mansfield High took home 3rd with 56 points.
In the Middle School Girls two-mile run, Kaufman Middle School led the way 18 points, Permenter Middle School (Cedar Hill ISD) took second, and third went to Southwest Christian School. Kaufman Middle School finished off the sweep in the boys two-mile race taking home the title (40 points) doubling up Permenter Middle School (80 points) and Bessie Coleman Middle School (Cedar Hill ISD) took home third with 81 points.
