SATURDAY APRIL 12, 2014

On a increasingly windy Saturday the Arlington Baptist Patriots Men’s Track team traveled to Abilene, Texas to compete in their second meet of the season at Hardin Simmons University. The field consisted of 14 different teams and 2 clubs to compete against.

Running in his very first 400 meter dash, Freshman Mylik Butcher placed fifth overall out of 14 with a time of 54.02. Additionally, fellow teammate Elijah Vargas, running in his first 1500 of his college career, placed 14th out of a field of 18 runners with a time of 4:47.

“Today was a good day” Coach Collins had to say afterwards, “they hit the times I asked them to put up and competed well. We’ll only move forward from here.”
