Lady Patriots Win Homecoming by 40

Friday January 24, 2014

The Women’s Basketball team faced the Rhema Eagles in an anticipated rematch for the Lady Eagles who on their previous meeting gave up the game to the Lady Patriots who shot over %60 from three-point range and grabbed a tough win on the road back in December.

The Lady Patriots tipped off at 5:00 pm and, as assumed, with three minutes left in the first half they were only up 27-26. But due to defensive pressure and quick offensive conversions the Lady Patriots went into the locker room up by nearly 20 points! The intensity did not lighten as in the second half the Lady Patriots continued to pressure the Lady Eagles into rushed shots, and continued to convert offensively.

The team was led by Sophomore Morgan Hale who stacked a double-double on the night, bringing in 12 boards and 19 points for the night. Point Guard Shanice Hill contributed 16 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals on the night, while sophomore guard Hannah McGaughy went 4-6 from deep totaling 14 points. The Lady Patriots took the game 93-53 moving to 11-5 on the season and preserved a 6 game winning streak.

The team’s next game will be Monday December, 16 2014 against Southwest Assemblies of God University at 5:30pm
