Lady Patriot Basketball Region Champs….Again!!

2016 Region Champs

For the fourth time in the last four years the Lady Patriots of Arlington Baptist have secured the Southwest Regional Championship with a 95-87 win over Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College.  This is only the fourth year for the school to have a women’s basketball program after playing a JV schedule a year prior, so it has won the title every year of it’s existence.   After two loses to the Saints earlier in the year, the women were feeling confident that they would prevail this time around because Hillsdale has never beaten Arlington in this Regional Championship showdown.  After trailing 2-0 to start the game, Arlington went on a 10-0 run and never looked back.  They led by as many as 16 before losing a little ground in the final minutes and securing the eight point victory.  The Lady Patriots will now travel to Joplin Missouri for the ACCA Division I and NCCAA Division II Championships where they will try to defend their titles from last year.
